KUALA LUMPUR: Starting Sunday (May 15), motorists heading to the Kampung Pandan roundabout can use a flyover from the Jalan Tun Razak.

The 2.8km three-lane road starts in front of the Royal Selangor Golf club before ending in Kampung Pandan.

During the launch on Saturday (May 14), Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim said the flyover was meant to reduce congestion during peak hours.

“This flyover is also to provide access to motorists exiting from Jalan Bukit Bintang.

“It also connects to the entrance and exit of the MEX highway,” he said.

He added that plans were being made to link the flyover to the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway that was currently under construction.

Launched on July 20, 2017, the RM492.5mil project was supposed to be completed on July 8, 2019.

However, the project experienced several delays, among which reasons included the movement control order in 2020.

Also present at the launch were mayor Datuk Seri Mahadi Che Ngah and ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Rosida Jaafar.
